Wet Natural Gas
Natural gas that is withdrawn from natural gas or crude oil wells is often wet natural gas. Wet gas is a natural gas that has a lower methane content (typically below 85%) that is intermixed with water vapor and natural gas liquids (NGLs) such as propane, butane, and pentane.
Wet natural gas often needs to be further processed to get it pipeline-ready. In processing plants, the water vapor is removed, and NGL is separated out. Once the gas is clean and dry, it can proceed on as consumer-grade gas that is safe for pipeline or other transport.
Welker’s wet natural gas sampling equipment is carefully designed to collect representative samples while protecting sensitive downstream equipment from exposure to liquids.
