What are Petrochemicals?
Many byproducts of natural gas processing and petroleum refining can be further refined using cracking or chemical processing to yield petrochemicals. These petrochemicals, derived from petroleum or natural gas, can be used to make thousands of products we rely on in daily life, such as plastics, synthetic rubber, dyes, detergents, ammonia, and more. The three main classes of petrochemicals are Olefins, Aromatics, and Synthesis Gas.
