IntelliScent™
Odorant Monitor
Real-Time Odorant Monitoring For Added Assurance
The IntelliScent™ continuously measures odorant concentration in natural gas pipelines, providing real-time data to verify compliant odorization — and delivering that data straight to the IntelliScent™ mobile app.
View live odorant readings and control your monitor with the IntelliScent iOS app.
Watching
Know Your Odorant Level. Always.
Natural gas must be odorized to a detectable level for safety. The IntelliScent™ Odorant Monitor takes the guesswork out of compliance by continuously measuring odorant concentration directly in the gas stream — and making that data available in real time.
-
Continuous, Automated MeasurementNo manual sniff tests — the IntelliScent reads your odorant level around the clock.
-
H₂S Detection OptionConfigurable to ignore or include H₂S in measurement — important for sour gas applications.
-
Works With Multiple OdorantsCompatible with TBM, THT, DMS, and blended odorants including seasonal blends.
-
Designed for the FieldBuilt to withstand pipeline environments — coastal, hot, cold, and everything in between.
From Probe to Phone in Four Steps
The IntelliScent captures a sample from the pipeline, analyzes odorant concentration, and transmits results — all automatically.
Sample Extraction
A sample probe draws gas from the center of the pipeline — ensuring a representative sample at 15–50 psig via an external regulator.
Odorant Analysis
The IntelliScent analyzes odorant concentration in the sample gas, with configurable settings for odorant type, expected concentration range, and H₂S handling.
Data Transmission
Real-time readings are transmitted and logged, allowing continuous compliance monitoring without on-site visits for every reading.
App Visibility
View live and historical odorant data on the IntelliScent iOS app — available on Apple .
Built for Compliance. Designed for the Field.
Continuous Real-Time Monitoring
Measures odorant concentration around the clock, eliminating reliance on periodic manual readings to verify compliant odorization levels.
iOS App — Available on Apple
The IntelliScent app delivers live readings, alerts, and historical data directly to your iPhone.
Multi-Odorant Compatible
Supports TBM, THT, DMS, and blended odorant streams, including seasonal blends — with configurable target odorant and expected concentration settings.
H₂S Configurable
If H₂S is present in the gas stream, the IntelliScent™ can be configured to include or ignore it in the odorant measurement — critical for sour gas applications.
Wide Temperature Range
Engineered for both hot and cold operating environments. Protection from direct sunlight recommended — specify your ambient temperature range at installation.
+24VDC Power Input
Requires a clean, reliable +24VDC ±10% power source. Designed for straightforward integration into existing pipeline instrumentation power systems.

Installation Best Practices
Follow these guidelines to ensure accurate, reliable odorant measurement from your IntelliScent monitor.
-
1
Use a Sample Probe — Center of Pipe
Acquire sample from the middle of the pipeline. Make sure the sample extraction point is in the main flow — not a stub or inactive line.
-
2
Regulate to 15–50 psig
Use an external regulator to wblueuce sample line pressure to between 15 and 50 psig before the sample enters the unit.
-
3
Short Sample Line — Under 25’
Keep the sample line less than 25’ of ¼″ OD stainless steel tubing to minimize odorant adsorption and response time.
-
4
Minimize Direct Sunlight
Protect the unit from direct sunlight as much as possible to maintain accurate sensor performance and extend service life.
-
5
Clean, Reliable +24VDC Power
Provide a stable +24VDC ±10% power source. Unstable power can affect measurement accuracy and unit reliability.
