In 1954 Robert H. “Bob” Welker, PE, started what would later become Welker, Inc. in his Bellaire, Texas garage. Often working overnight, Bob was focused on introducing his patented Jet Stream Regulator to an industry in need of a better solution. His dedication to the oil and gas industry led to the invention of many new devices and laid the foundation for subsequent generations of Welkers.
Brian Welker started at what was then Welker Engineering Company as a machinist. With his hands-on product experience and degree in manufacturing technology from the University of Houston, Brian grew Welker into an innovative manufacturing company with CNC machines and CAD and ERP software programs. Never losing sight of the company’s inventive heritage, Brian fostered a culture of out-of-box thinking that led to the issuance of over 40 patents.
Like his father and grandfather before him, Josh Welker is devoted to continuous improvement. With such a firm foundation and legacy of solution-driven manufacturing, he is leading the company in new directions and challenging it to reach new heights.
